Paradise

Deep dark night, moonshine so bright,
The stars are twinkling and the sky is winking.
I sit under the canopy, an arch so high,
I look up to stare and gaze at the sky.

Many nights I’ve sat here, under the starlit night,
Many times I’ve wondered why it is so lovely and quiet.
Sometimes I think and sometimes I wonder why
Why is it so difficult to hope for a better life?

The moon is shining, spreading its wonderful light
Pristine glory of silver, divine in its own right.
Then I see the pattern, a story so coy
One might be alone but never in one’s life.

The moon will always shine,
The clouds and star covering the night sky
One day the holy truth will come
And deliver us to Paradise.
